Our origin story
People are social creatures. We create music, language, art, and community to express to others who we are. But when mental illness gets in the way, it can become harder to connect—harder to be truly seen. Ad Astra was founded to change that.
Inspired by Star Trek and the belief that we are stronger together than alone, we created a patient-centered clinic focused on connection, curiosity, and care. We stepped away from big corporate empires that prioritize billable hours and double-booked schedules—because that system burns out providers and fails patients.
We built a place where passions matter. Where providers are whole humans, too—geeks with rich, diverse interests. Sci-fi. Games. Crafting. Kink. Chosen family. We believe that when we celebrate diversity in ourselves, we’re better able to understand and support it in others.
